Information for Activity Professionals

You will find information under each of the following headings to help you with programming for those you serve. Information to help you as well as resources is provided. Seasoned Activity Professionals willling to mentor or assist others

Amy Jackson
Amy has worked in activities for 12 years. Her original plan in life was to be a Social studies teacher, but through devine intervention, began working with older adults. She has been very involved with SCAPA since the took her first Activity Director's job in 2000, serving as District Rep, Parliamentarian, Professional Development Chair, Conference Chair, and most recently, President. She has also served on numerous National Association of Activity Professional's committees. Amy truly believes that in order to be a FANTASTIC Activity Professional, you must always be willing to learn and to keep an open mind. She is willing to assist or mentor in the area of Assisted Living or Independednt Living, which is where her experience backgound lies. You can reach her at amyjackson1@bellsouth.net
Debbie Bouknight
Debbie has worked in long term care for 30 years in the largest skilled care community in SC. She has served as SCAPA President, Corresponding Secretary, Conference Chair, Recording Secretary and District Rep. She has served on the NAAP Board as Public Relations Trustee and Conference Chair. She is currently serving SCAPA as the Professional Development Chair as well as serving on the NAAPCC Board as Director of Outreach and Re-certification. She also serves on the SC Spirit of Caring Committee. She believes strongly in continuing education, certification, and keeping abreast of new trends in the field.
